Running Log

Winter Running – Training for a Spring Marathon

Last week: 26.5 total miles

Mentally, I am back in marathon training mode. A little sunshine for a long run in the winter goes a long way.

Plus Lisa, coach extraordinaire, spoke directly to my foot and said, you are training for a marathon, starting this week (knock it off).

I made up the "knock it off" part because she would never say that...

What percent of running is mental? 90%?

So, I ran 12 on Saturday and 6 on Sunday, focusing on my form.

It's all about the form to prevent injury. It's a fallacy that the way you run is the only way to run.

There is a right way to run!

Two weeks ago, my daughter started training for the high school track team and on Saturday she ran 7 miles, her farthest distance ever.

If you get past 5, you can do 7. If you can do 7, you can do 10.

Anyhoo, I said to Annie, you could run a half marathon with us this summer! (us being my friends from the neighborhood)

And this is what she said: Mom, I don't want to run with old people...

Gasp.

Bring it, little lady!
